Justin Calderone grew up in Elizabeth Township, Pa, and currently resides in North Versailles, Pa. He is 2008 alumni of Elizabeth Forward and attended C.C.A.C for Criminal Justice. He currently works for United States Steel Corporation Irvin Works, along with working for USW Local 2227. Justin believes in putting family first, followed by strong personal accountability, and helping those people in tough times before they reach their breaking point. Justin started the C.C.F in memory of his son Christopher. While consistently being in and out of hospitals for 2 years, Justin and his wife shared rooms with working class families that battled to stay ahead financially. These families were taking off work so much to care for their children that paying for parking, or even a hospital meal was difficult. After Christopher passed Justin used his grief as motivation to build a foundation based on Christopher’s life that opened his eyes to a world he would have never seen without him.
Katelyn is an Industrial Engineer who currently works at FedEx Ground improving operations within the company, and supporting the customer experience. She believes that transparency and accuracy are the most important when it comes to making every customer experience outstanding.
Mentorship is very important to Katelyn. During her time at Robert Morris University (RMU), she mentored an upcoming Moon High School graduate who built and led an annual Science Bowl from the ground up. The event promotes STEM to elementary level students, and has been running for 5 years with the support of RMU's Society of Women Engineers. In her career at FedEx, she continues to support and mentor others through her chair position in Women Leading Change at FedEx Ground.
Katelyn was awarded the FedEx Rising Star Award in 2019 for her teamwork in enterprise level projects, and upon graduating RMU with two Bachelor of Science degrees in 2017, she was one of only thirteen graduates to receive the Signature Leadership Award for her impact on campus.
Katelyn joined CCF because of the importance of their mission. The work that CCF does and the aid that the foundation is able to provide to people in need sets a great example for everyone: caring and supporting our neighbors is the most important thing that we can do.
Shannon grew up in Brentwood, PA and currently resides in North Versailles. She is a 2009 alumni of Brentwood High School and graduated with an Associates Degree in Retail Management/Marketing from Bradford Business School. After working in the banking/investment industry, Shannon became a stay at home parent soon after her son Christopher was born due to his ongoing medical conditions.
Staying at home and caring for Christopher opened Shannon's eyes to a world of healthcare and care-giving that she did not know even existing. After 2 years of being in and out of the hospital, Shannon and her husband saw the struggle working class families faced while caring for their ill or special needs children. After Chris's passing in 2018, Shannon and her husband Justin felt that they could do something to help those families. CCF was born from that idea and has been growing since.
